    i just bought the Pioneer DV 2750 DVD player today but only have a 4:3 28" TV i also have a samsung DVD player which has EZview feature on it which lets u play ALL movies in full screen no borders, i follwed the pioneer manual i bought to try get it to play movies in 4:3 but it wont have it for some reason? i have tried DVD+R's and original store bought discs and its the same with both, anyone got any ideas how i can view movies on my player but not in widescreen?

    ps i already tried zoom feature but it just....zooms in and keeps the borders, i selected 4:3 pan and scan as the manual says but it doesnt seem to do anything

    You can't. Use your other player or buy pan & scan dvd releases or learn how to wath the video in original aspect ratio or buy a ws tv. .

    1) Suck it up and be a man. Widescreen is the only way to watch a film that was intended to be shown that way by the director. Every time you express support of pan and scan, you are basically ripping the negative out of the director's camera, and wiping your butt on it before giving said director a kick in the nuts.

    2) In a major oversight, the DVD Consortium allowed for automatic pan and scan information to be encoded in widescreen transfers. That's what the 4:3 Pan And Scan option, which should never have seen the light of day, refers to. Very few discs support this feature, and since it does not allow for variable zooming, it is only effective with discs that feature 1.78:1 or 1.66:1, 16:9 Enhanced transfers.
