Ok Here's the deal. Had a payment due on Dec. 4 I forgot about it so of course I get the late fee charged on Dec. 6. I pay the balance in full besides the late fee (it wasn't added to my card yet.) via electronic payment on Dec. 8 which I would assume be applied to next months balance, correct? It has to be applied to some month.

Not so fast.... I get yet another late payment fee for the payment due on Jan. 4. Here's where the real bullshit starts. I call the CC company. They applied my Dec. 8 payment to the balance due on Dec 4. So I have a late fee for both months and a payment in between that means nothing except reducing my interest charge for Jan.

It's almost as if I didn't make a payment at all.

Call and say you want to cancel. When they switch you over to the retention department, they'll usually do something to make up for it.
Nothing can stop me now, 'cause I don't care anymore.

  3. I missed a payment last month and they cancelled the card. When I phoned up to say I hadn't received a statement and could I get another I was told "There is a five pound charge for a second statement." I replied "I'm not paying that" and the charge was duly waived.

    Cancel the card immediately.

Already cancelled and no they didn't send me too the retention dept. I think the guy realized it wasn't worth it......fuckers. But I'm out $70 bucks and it should only be $35.

Ooooh! Credit cards are some evil shit. But if you wait about three or for months they will call and offer to drop all late fees if you pay up to date If you want your rate lowered it's best to call them when your balance is low or tell them that you got a new card with a lower rate and want to cancel all of your higher rate cards includeing theirs.

Get like an American express or something that gives you points for travel. Use the hell out of it ( I mean never even use cash for anything that can be put on the card) and pay it off every month and you will have your vacation paid for every year.

I work with a guy that does this. We have company cards for gas and a few home centers and such, and he wont use the company cards. He uses his own and the fills out an expence report to get the money back from the company. I ain't sure what card he has or what the deal is, but he racks up some points. Pays the card online from his bank and pays all the other bills online from the card. I bet he pays his house note with it (If not I will tell him to try to see if he can)
IS IT SUPPOSED TO SMOKE LIKE THAT?

That's not the point Zappper, if the payment was applied to Dec due date there shouldn't be a late fee for Dec as it would be payed in full. I fuly agree with getting a late fee for the Dec payment as I have fucked up and not payed it on time. What I'm disputing is the fact that basically I wasn't given credit for making a payment for the Jan. payment. If I made no payments I would still have the same late fees.

  7. What bank is this?

I'd be making my feelings about this well-known to them by now, coalman.
