    When recording programs using the tuner on the unit the level is too high,
    causing a humming noise. Need a way to reduce audio level on the lvw-5005
    when
    using composite input.

  3. I had exactly the same problem and I've seen reports of it elsewhere - I figured it was a power/line problem too, but I couldn't get rid of it. I switched to using an external tuner and everything works great in that configuration. I wonder if the mono tuner may indeed be the issue - thinking back I probably had both audio (left and right) hooked up and it may be that you should just hook up the left - but I'm not about to go back and try that now. Anyway - ignoring the hum, the audio from the tuner was thin and tinny to my ears anyway and would be acceptable only for TV news shows and such, but might do in a pinch.

    Anyway - the builtin tuner is crap by any measure - so use an external tuner and get decent stereo audio output (even DTS) and no hum!

    Just my opinion.
