  1. all i want to do with a movie(besides the fact im having trouble with a few movies right now) is to just have the movie, without any special features or anything. i would like to be remote free, when i put the dvd in the player, i want the movie to start playing, i do not want any menus or anything. i use programs such as dvd decryptor, and dvd shrink. im gonna be using some other programs since i cannot back up a few movies. but if you guys could help me with this situation it would be most helpful to me. so when i am bakcing up the movie, i just want the main movie file and thats it, is there a way i can do that or no?

Yes, read the guide. But you can go into reauther mode (next to the full disk button) and just select the main movie.

This is the guide I use. I just copy the main movie for most of my DVDs.

One thing I do in DVDShrink when I reauthor is to right click on the main movie 'title 1', and select 'set default streams'. This allows you to choose the default audio and subpicture startup mode. This way you can keep the subtitles from auto starting (as they sometimes do), and choose the default audio stream to be played. Having subtitles show up at a movie startup is a little nuisance that can be easily avoided with this feature.

no real need for DVDdecrypter unless it's a problem DVD you can't rip. Why rip files you don't need?, even grabbing the movie-only files will rip extra data in most cases

this is probably an easy guide to follow doing it direct from the DVD. If you ignore that he has grabbed a couple of other titles but maybe you want a THX/dolby intro
