In November 2004 i had ordered 14 packs of Datawrite Grey 8x, I had purchased these in bulk because of their low price and to use in the future.

I have now started using these discs, and i have noticed that then i 'puff' on the writing side a ring can be seen on the outer diameter of the disc (about 1 inch) THIS HAPPEND TO ALL OF THE DISCS WHEN BLANK AND WRITTEN

i have used these discs for a long time and only this time have come across this happening.

can you tell me if these discs i have purchased are actually A grade discs, or were these a rejected batch, overproduction etc?

these discs burn OK, but i have lost trust in them , and have stuck to Verbatim 8X Printables.

Datawrite have lost my trust, one UK website stated "these packs may contain some 4x media" (this was stated next to the Datawrite Grey 8x) i know these discs have been VERY popular, but now thinking about it they are about £6 for 25 discs for a reason, id rather spend more and go for Verbatims

anyone heard of the ring on their UNBURNED media, when they 'puff' on it or when they hold it from the edges (ring forming with the heat from hand)

Thank you,
