Greets
Been thinking of extending the amount of film I can squeeze on to 1 VCD. The obvious thing to do is to lower the bitrate, at least thats what I thought. Anyway, I did some experimenting - just used TMPGenc with standard PAL VCD settings and started encoding from a bitrate of 2000 all the way down to 500 at increments of 100.
What did I find? Well as you would expect the file size did decrease until I reached the 1000 mark. After that point all the files were the same size. My theory, I think there is possibly? a point at which the pixel canvas maintains a fixed size of file regardless of how much you lower the bitrate. What do you think?
Kind regards
Alan
