  1. Does anybody know if it is possible to make Studio 9 to capture from an internal DVD drive in the computer ?

My problem is that my old 8 mm videocam is not working at all anymore, so i have been to a place where they could put my tapes on a DVD, and then i thought i could edit it in Studio 9, but no

You don't need to capture it as it's already in digital format. You only need to import it into Studio 9.

What kind of video is it? AVI or did they make a DVD that you can play on your standalone DVD player?

  3. Thanks Coalman,

They made a DVD i can play in my computer, the DVD source there is both DVD- and DVD+, i can't play it on my standalone DVD player.

They said ther where they put it in a DVD that the files i shall use is those who has the extension VOB and that i shall rename them to MPG.
So i renamed VIDEO_TS.VOB to the extension VIDEO_TS.MPG.

So now the Studio 9 can actually see that there is a file, but i get the message that it can't be opened.

What's the details of the message? And download G-Spot to indentify the properties of the mpg.

To rip the files out of the disc properly use DVD Decrypter, it's free. That disc should play on your standalone, the disc is probably incompatible with your standalone. Not the files on the disc but the disc itself. Look to the left under DVD players to see.

  5. Well, i have now tried the two programs, with no luck. It said that my VOB files are mpeg2.
I have consulted Pinnacle, and the message there was that i should "reincode" the files and rename them to mpg, but they were not shure that it would work at all. But i'm not shure what reincode is ?

Jackasses, the only time you want to reencode a mpeg is if your trying to squeeze more onto a disc. To maintain the original quality never do this.

Suggest you try some different software. If you want to try something similar to Studio 9 give Ulead Video Studio 8 a try. It has a free 30 day trial.
