  1. Thanks for VSO link, seems to be much quicker than AVS Converter almost real time.

But, what do I do if I have two AVI / Divx files to make up my DVD, on AVS Converter I could click on the two files and convert them into one DVD.

With VSO the option to input multiple Divx / Avi files doesn't seem to be available is that right?

Based on libavcodec isn't it? Should be other ways to use libavcodec and encode multiple files. Same speed and quality that way.

You're forced to combine the two AVI files, then encode with divxtodvd.

You'll have to check the two AVIs with GSPOT to see if they've been encoded the same way. If they are, it's easy to combine them. If they aren't, it is more work.

  5. At this point in time DivxtoDVD will only do 1 file at a time. If you use the "append segment" function in Virtualdub you can join the 2 parts together and then import into divxtodvd.

libavcodec is part of the ffmpeg opensource project. It incorporates various encoder/decoders including MPEG2. It was my understanding that divxtodvd made use of it for encoding.

My point was that if the above is true (check for libavcodec.dll and possibly libavformat.dll) then you could get the same quality and speed with something else.
