  1. I obtained this DVD player from my boss as a gift. It is labled as a Diamond Home and the model is GK-2003. There is no phone number, email, or website anywhere on the box or manual. There are also no references to any company or manufacturer either.

My problem is I can't even get a normal retail DVD to play in this sucker. It powers up and I can get to the main screen and get into the setup just fine. All options seem to be set correctly. but when I pop in a DVD it just sits trying to load it. After about 5 minutes it will display "Unreadable disc" in the upper right.

I'm just wondering if anyone has ever heard of Diamond Home or knows anything about this DVD player. Are there DVD players that have a generic firmware and hardware? I'm wondering if this is just a rebranded machine and some sort of documentation exists under a different name.

It seems odd to me that a company could produce something as common as a DVD player and not even have a phone number!

Any info would be helpful. Thanks!

  3. I think it might be a Walmart special. If its the small compact one I'm thinking of, its probably a spin off from Cyberhome...

  4. I took a look at the Cyberhome CH-300. It does look very similar to the one I have. But the button placements are wrong.

Anyways I took this little guy apart to see if there was maybe just a loose connection or something. Nothing out of the ordinary. Stripped it down, unplugged all the little plugs, moved all the gears, then put it back together and it started working.

    Definitely a mysterious DVD player.
