Just wondering if anyone knows a street date for the new drive because if (and its a unlikely IF) it supports Bitsetting for +R single layer then it will be my new drive. The LiteOn is showing it age.

End of January according to www.svp.co.uk. Yes it does support bitsetting on +R single layer and dual layer. It also supports dual layer -R (or will once the spec has been ratified).

Like you I am anxious to see the 109. I haven't heard of a date, but the -R DL support is supposed to be released as a firmware update later on. (I understand they are still working out the specs.) Personally. I don't care about DL (right now) I just want the faster speeds. I'm sure there will be a post....

Groovy stuff. I knew about the -R DL by firmware update. But the rest is news. Looks like I need to make sure I have a little cash around for when it comes out.

They're here....
Just picked mine up at BB for $130. It includes NovaStor NovaBACKUP, and the following Ulead goodies; PictureShow 3SE, VideoStudio 8 SE DVD, MovieFactory 3.5. I'll hook it up tonight. -
