    Okay.....

To me this is kind of whacked.....

I have seen trailers and info about the new A Nightmare on Elm Street movie for some time.... but only about 3 minutes ago did i learn, Jackie Earle Haley was playing Freddy Krueger!!!

    Can anyone say "DOLLMAN" ??
    LOL!!!!

I don't know.... to me, having someone else other than Robert Englund playing freddy Krueger is like having Emmanuel Lewis playing Chucky in a child's Play remake....

Or maybe Little Richard as Pinhead.....

    LMAO!!!

Wow!! Are they getting desperate or what ??

Desperate? Isn't this the 15th elm street? That says desperate to me.....
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

Ahhh, but it's not another chapter in the series, my understanding is that it is a "remake" of the original.

And any good movie was usually sequeled to death just for the sake of making more money.
Getting worse and worse as each one was made.

Most movies in which i loved the originals, after the first two they all seem to go to crap.

And i don't have anything against Jackie Earle Haley, i just would never think he would be a good candidate to play freddy.
Every movie i ever saw him in he was a short little scrawny dude......

Let's say we remake the original "Crow" and cast Jackie Earle Haley in place of Brandon Lee....

@noahtuck - no problem. I like the Star Wars prequels so I get grief from that as well. Like you what you like.

    - I agree about the running a series into the ground. What about those saw movies? They're up to like ten aren't they? Or now the alien vs predator spinoff stuff.......

Or what about police academy? I never watched them but I imagine they lost all their charm after the 1st or possibly second movie.

You know, imh, a lot of these movie outfits go too far these days. I mean. Given the improved special effects pumping out today, the creaters/writers want to make (or think they can make it better) with the improved se.

I'm still waiting for them to do the sequal to Blade Runner, but what would prob make it better (or should I say, succeed) is if they used the same ingrediants (of se) from the original, so that the same flavor is remembered. Heck, if Harrison Ford can be dragged out for the Indy movie, why not, for BR.

Do they have "aging" protocols for the androids in the movie???

Or they could work on the next gen version of what they used in xmen 3 to make patrick stewart and ian mcellan (did I get that right? The guy who played magneto and gandalf in lotr). Remember in the opening flashback they did that face morph to make them look twenty years younger?

I do know there was a discussion awhile back in offtopic that that only works well for low action talky scenes but who knows - maybe they could morph it onto stunt doubles to do the stunts and all that.....
