Crazy winter weather (US)

Hello,

WOW! Lots of action in the US for weather.

Here in Michigan it's supposed to go up to 50F on Thursday and drop to the single digits for the weekend!!!!

And poor California - more snow/rain!

Freakishly warm in Baltimore for January so far this year. It's almost normal to get maybe 1-3 days in the winter where it gets into the 60's, but we have already exceeded our quota this winter. Nice since I can do outdoor painting on the house.

And it's still raining right now, though they say it'll stop by tomorrow night. Lots of mudslides, traffic accidents, floods, freeway closures, etc. So Cal just can't handle all this rain. There was nearly nonstop coverage of the weather on TV here today. We got over 3" of rain just since yesterday, and before it's all over, we'll be more than 50% above normal rainfall, and the rainy season has hardly begun!

I don't mind the rain, though. I turn off my lawn sprinklers and save on water, and my area is fine, no floods or any real problems. But this really is unusual weather for here. It's the most rain we've had for ages.

Tonight, it'll be snowing in the local mountains. I guess Vegas got hit pretty hard too.

Snowed in New Orleans this year, Christmas Day. Very unusual. It never snow in S.E. Louisiana. Now it 70 degrees outside.

Not much snow for Minnesnowda this time of year, however it'll be cold here this week. Highs aren't supposed to make it out from under 0°F (roughly -18°C) starting Thurday. Forecasting lows of -25°F (-31°C) on Friday. That's a little low, but nothing out of the ordinary. Not surprisingly we see the coldest weather in the lower 48, often even beating Alaska's balmy north shores

I wouldn't have it any other way though. I love the extreme cold here.

we've had a string of cold weather here on the west coast, normally all it does in the winter is rain, but we've had snow on the ground for a while now, and it's apparently gonna just keep piling up. It's funny how people in this city are completely unprepared for winter weather.

(the idea being warming leads to the ice age - dip in ocean temps from too much icebergs changes climate patterns - not sure how accurate that is since its a hollywood movie)

Well, it's snowing again! This is California, damn it! It has rained or snowed for 17 of the last 18 days. I don't even remember what the sun looks like. I got a new putter for Christmas, and I'm getting a golf membership for my birthday, and can't use either one.

This sucks!
