Hello there again..
I'm having some questions..
I've got some DVDs and I ripped them using DVD Decrypter (newest version) and it saved the VOB files for me. But when I watch the VOB files I notice some eh.. lines going through the display.
If I encode those VOBs to AVI using Auto Gordian Knot the lines are gone, but when I manually encode them to AVI with VirtualDub, they're still there... How can that be? What filter (I think) do I have to use to get rid of them?
Also, I'm having another problem with VirtualDub, the filesize is not working well. When I enter 179200 kB filesize, it mostly gets to 250 MB or 200 or something like that.. But it can't be bigger than 175 MB (4 episodes of South Park (Around 22 / 23 minutes) on 1 CD).
And... The AC3 decoder doesn't work well, 'cause I can't set the bitrate to Lame MP3 44,1 kHz 128 kB/s CBR.. It gives me an error, but when I set it to 48 kHz it works fine (I don't know if it makes much difference, but I rather want it to be 44,1 kHz).
I hope someone can help me.. I'm using the newest version of every program I use (and for the codecs too).
The codec is XviD by the way.
The method I use for ripping is:
- Rip the VOBs with DVD Decrypter (IFO mode)
- Feed the VOBs to VirtualDub-MPEG2 (I can't use VirtualDubMOD, because I can't change the audio there)
- Encode the VOBs to AVI
The other way with Auto Gordian Knot is:
- Rip the VOBs with DVD Decrypter (IFO mode)
- Feed them to Auto GK and encode them
Please, let me know if you have any ideas... Thanks in advance!
PS: I would rather want to rip and encode with DVD Decrypter and VirtualDubMOD/-MPEG2, because I don't like the word "auto" in Auto GK.. And I want to put some filters on it (like smoothing and stuff, because the quality of the DVDs of South Park isn't that good).
PS2: If you want to see a screenshot of the lines, please tell me (because I can't make screenshots with VideoLAN, so I'll have to encode it and view it in Windows Media Player).

Okay that thing with the lines was mentioned in this topic: https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=252162
Now figuring out how to solve it. ^_^ That's one problem less. Yay
And.. Maybe someone got a .vcf for cartoon episodes? So I can have a look at the settings used, to learn from it. I really wanna learn encoding.. Best would be a VirtualDubMOD/MPEG2 guide which really goes into it.
