  1. hi,

i have a vcd i wish to copy. reading the "how to", it only talks about burning avi, divx, mpg, etc. files to vcd. can i do it with the dat file? do i only need a typical cd-r for this (not dvd-r) to make a vcd? thanks! ^_^

  2. just use any Copying program like Clonecd or Discjuggler to copy the VCD just pop the VCD on you reader and the blank CD-R on your writer and your all set

  3. Exactly.

A VCD is just a CD type disc. You can copy it as you would any other type of CD.

Just use the copy CD function in your regular CD burning proggy (e.g., Nero). I personally like CloneCD for a straight disc copy.

  4. hi,

thanks for the pointers! sounds very simple with separate cd reader and writer drives. can i still do it with a combo cd-rw drive? do i copy all the files to my hard drive first? then the copy cd will look the same as my original to my dvd player? (at least i don't have to do any file conversion...)

Yes, you can make a copy with a combo cd-rw drive. CloneCD will make a .iso image file of the CD to the hard drive and then will burn it onto a blank CD.
I only dream in black & white...

  6. With CloneCD, read image file (you VCD) to hard drive then write that image file to CD using same cd burner drive. Do not copy on the fly (CD to CD).
Or you can use Nero to copy CD to CD.
