Burner won't copy Sony CD-R

I just recently bought an AOpen DUW1608/ARR Dual Layer DVD Burner. It can burn DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW and DVD+R DL, as well as CD-R and CD-RW. I burned several backup movies onto DVD-R with no porblem. But today, I wanted to backup one of my music CD's onto CD-R. I have a spindle of Sony 700MB/80min 48x CD-R. It keeps giving me an error everytime when it begins to burn the first music track. Can anyone help me?

I am using Nero to backup my music CD. Everytime when it reachs 6% completed, it gives me a "Communication Error." Well, this morning, I figured out my problem. I had to update Nero to the latest version, then it would burn my backup no problem.

try slowing down the burn speed for you cd's i had a problem when i try'd burning at 12x speed for cd's try a slower speed and it might work then.
