Hi, I've had the LG GSA4081B multiburner for about 8 months. All has been well until 2nd Jan. I tried to write a dvd-r and got the message 'disc full' so tried a dvd+rw and it burned fine. again tried a different dvd-r with 'disc full' message.Later tried writing a different movie to a dvd+rw and this time it got 3/4 through and then froze everything!! When i insert a blank disc (any format) it seems to be struggling to recognise it. However, if i insert a pre -written disc it has no problems and will play fine...IM CONFUSED! Anyone experienced similar probs or got any ideas? THANKS

GO FROM ME SUMMER FRIENDS AND TARRY NOT

I had a GSA 4081B for about 6 months, after about 70 burnt disks it wasn't able to recognize any blank disk . So I tried to update the firmware but this didn't fix the problem.
What you can do is try to update the firmware downloading from the lg site of your country. If this doesn't help you , you have only a good dvd-player (if it's not under warranty)
For the future I suggest Nec or Pioneer.Minds are like parachutes. They only function when they are open ! -
Thanks for the advice.....sounds ominous!!

i seem to be screwed in the same way - only my drive doesn't even read regular discs (burned & originals...) why isn't this covered in the warranty?
With all due respect... and there is respect...
