Didn't buy them - saw that they're made in Taiwan.

Anyone know anything about these? Good? Average? Don't bother?

Wow, inkjet printables? They're probably TTG02. Some drives like em, some don't. $30 for 50 really isn't a HUGE gamble though.

  3. 30$ for 50 is a bad deal imo for 50 printables

Printables are expensive. $30 for 50 is a great deal.

Inkjet printable TY is going to run at least $35+shipping for a 50 disc spindle online.

RitekG05 is pretty mediocre media...Not to be compared with TY or even TDK.

You're assuming that the TDK is of good quality.

No, I'm going by others' experiences with TTG02, which have overall been positive.

  11. Was this in the store, or online? I was just there yesterday and only saw the regular TDK's....

Again, you're assuming that these tdk discs are TTG02, which is what I said earlier. You thought I meant that TTG02 was not good quality and i didnt mean that. TDK is known to use whatever, ergo my earlier post. G05 work fine for me btw. heck, everything pretty much works fine for me, I just dont buy a lot of the cheaper stuff when I can get the better quality at a tad bit more of a price.

JohnnyCNote, how are ya doing buddy. Howz life!!

True that TDK is known for using lots of media codes, but I haven't heard of any of their 8x DVD-R being anything other than TTG02, so there's no reason to assume they won't be

That's cool I guess. It is still not that good a deal when less expensive can be had. I suppose if you really need some right now it's an ok buy.

These were in-store - in Staten Island, NY.

With tax, they come out to around .65 each. I know I can buy cheaper media on the 'net - that's where I buy them all the time. What I wanted to know was whether anyone has used them and could relate their experience. I wanted to know what the media code is - esp since they're made in Taiwan. I didn't want to take a chance buying CMC crap.

As for the Ritek 8X white printable G05s, I beg to differ as they are not mediocre media - the 8X white printable Prodiscs now seem to be garbage. Different strokes for different folks.

  17. I'll check the Jacksonville store this weekend and see if they have any in stock. Although I bought 100 of the TDK's with the buy one get one free deal last month, so I'm really pretty well set....

  18. I went to Costco yesterday and they didn't have the printable DVD's yet, but did have printable CD's. The guy I asked said they're probably on their way...
