    I was wondering if its possible to create chapters/entrypoints for avi files compressed using divx or xvid

    I am asking in general, that is it actually possible to create chapters in a single AVI (divx/xvid) title. I know you can split AVI's but that creates separate files, but I want a single AVI file to have entrypoints in it.

    I've certainly never heard of or seen it done, but this has always intrigued me with virtualdubmod:





    It may be worth having a play with this.

    Doesn't work for avi's; only ogm's and mkv's.

    The avi container doesn't support chapters, so you would need to use ogm, mkv or mp4 as a container.
