Philips DVP630 needed to make it region free

Hi all,
I have got a Philips dvd player DVP630 but it is not a region free player. I have searched the list of those player on this site that have been made region free but I can't find this model on the list. The nearest I get is the 631 model. I wanted to know whether I can use the same codes to make it region free or not.

I’ve found the following works at making my Region 2 DVP630 region free:

With player switched on and the disc tray open, type 7 8 9 OK 0 on the remote.

The number 0 should appear briefly on the lower left side of the TV screen, where 0 represents ’region free’. If you want to make it a specific region, you would type the region number instead of 0 (so, to lock it on US region 1, type 7 8 9 OK 1, for example).

Although it worked for me, I do not guarantee it will work for you, and you should region-free your machine at your own risk ;o)

I am not sure which one should ai use the one that you worte about or the one that is already on this site.

If one hack doesn't work will it affect the performance of the device by trying another hack, is it totally harmless to experimente different hacks?

Heard it also works with the Region 1 Player.
