  1. I just encoded a file from avi (mpeg4)/MP3 to mpg (mp2)/AC3.
For whatever reason, DVDSP3 refuses to import it. No matter, that can usually be corrected by demuxing the file and importing the audio and video streams separately. Well, using demux in the tools tab, I proceeded to generate 26 files, 13 of which were m2vs, the rest were mp2s. They were sequentially numbered, starting with 0, e.g.
    …mpg-0.m2v,
    …mpg-0.mp2,
    …mpg-1.m2v,
    …mpg-1.mp2, … etc..
One of these was the actual video stream, the rest were garbage. Some were unplayable. Some of the audio files opened in mplayer and played garbled sound AND video. None was an AC3 file.
I solved the practical issue by just extracting the audio from the original file, but it would be easier if demux was working right.

    What is going on?
