  1. Hello all,
I'd searched the forum for answers but so far no luck.

Basically, I know how to join VOB files but the combined file is larger 1 GB and it splits into two. How can get a SINGLE (> 1GB) file when joining VOB files (from VobEdit or anything similar)?

    Thanks

A way that I know will definitely work would be to join the files, let them split at 1GB, create IFOs and BUPs (all using this guide so far), then load these into smartripper and change the file splitting option to max filesize, and set max filesize to some huge value like 5000MB. This will then "combine" all your VOBs into one big one. Possibly not the most efficient way, but a way that will work nonetheless.

Even easier than that, I believe you could possibly just use some DOS to do it - I remember seeing a way to do it mentioned here previously, but I cannot recall what thread it was in

    EDIT:

Just tried it, and it seems that this should work from a commandline:

    copy /B VOB1.VOB+VOB2.VOB+VOBn.VOB BIG.VOB
    If in doubt, Google it.

  3. Thanks for that. I'll try it out. I already tried it out with TMPGenc (Plus) to join the VOBs but the resulting file does not have audio (AC3).

The reason I want to leave the combined file in one piece is so that I can re-author it in DVDLab. Two pieces are considered to be two clips

PS the VOBs are ripped from DVD Ripper, splitted by chapters.

    Evening all.

I wish that this process would be command-line driven

It would make things so much more easier (and quicker)

    @ jim..

I did finally figure out (realize) how to join VOBs (from other VOB processes)
using your guide (i mean, my 's opened)
And, this is the only way to get multipile VOB's on ond DVD, using this
technique, (instead of teh multipile MPEG-2 *.mpg's that I used to use,
hence my previous confusions in the past w/ your guide and this method)
    .
But, now that I have a better understanding .. .. after performing
the above steps to joing the VOBs, the next step, is to use chapters / entry points,
and in a rough way, you have multiple VOBs on one DVD. Because, in
actualality (sorry for the dumbfoundness words hehe) that *IS* what we
    (or, I) *are doing*. anyways.

I still wish the above was better suited w/ a command-line or something.

  6. if the VOB's are part of a VIDEO_TS file, there is an option in DVD Shrink to re-author into a single VOB

  7. VideoRedo will allow you to join VOB files into one large mpeg file.
