  1. Problem:
I encoded a 60 fps QT file to a 29.97 MPG file on Tmpgenc. Tmpgenc won't capture the sound. So, I used TotalRecorder to record the QT sound into WAV. And I use toolame to make the WAV into mp2.

(after muxing with BBMPEG) The problem is that the sound get gradually ahead of the video. In the beginning (the first minute), the sound seems to be perfectly synced. But, by 5 minutes, the audio is about 1 second ahead of video.

The audio seems to be the same length of time as the video, both about 6 minutes 4 seconds.

    Possible Options:
    1. Should I stretch the audio to fit the video? How do I do this?

    2. Do I insert additional silense at certain silent points of the audio to matchup specific audio landmarks to specific video landmarks? Any free MPEG2 editors out there?

    3. Can Virtual Dub or CCE let me capture and encode the audio and video to allow for better sync?

    4. Or should I get a video card with video out and capture the QT into AVI with my capture card. Too bad the Radeon 32Meg DDR LE TV Out is no longer being sold.

  3. Where would I insert the silense? My Mpeg is sync in sync for the first minute and the audio slow gets ahead of the video.

Do I really need a MPEG2 frame editor to locate door slams and abrupt sounds and syncronize each event until the whole movie is syncronized?

View the file with Windows Media Player and figure out how the time that the sound starts going out of sync, and insert the silence there.

  5. I will try this technique. But it's tough when the movie constantly has sounds.
