I've actually gone shooting in that kind of cold, Gee. And snowing too. The snowflakes were hissing as they landed on the hot barrel

The problem is that in order to generate enough gun heat to stay warm, you have to rapid-fire through about 8,000 rounds of ammo. Even reloading for 10 cents a round, it gets expensive

sitting in a blind at that temp - not moving for a couple of hours can get pretty unpleasant after awhile .. specially after generating a good sweat to get there ...

After you go to the can, if you're going outside, make sure you shake it good or it'll freeze on

Warm here today in SoCal. It's almost 80° already and it's only 2:45. The Santa Ana winds finally stopped blowing, and it's the nicest day we've had in a couple of weeks. And what am I doing? Posting messages on Vhelp

I've got all the windows open and if it gets much hotter I'll have to turn on the A/C. Probably won't stay this warm for long, though. The forecast is for it to cool off by 10° or so in the next couple of days. I haven't had to turn on the heater for a couple of weeks now.

Kinda chilly here in MN today. Dropped fast yesterday. It was near freezing early Saturday and I awoke today to -10°F. Fortunately I've got trees all around so I didn't get to experience the windchill when I went to get the paper today (1/4 mile walk to get my paper). The worst is the draft off the windows in the house. I'm using my computer as a space heater

I got married in Duluth in December. It was -14F on the thermometer. So cold my suede jacket crumpled like newspaper, but it didn't feel as cold as 0F in Chicago because it was a dry, arctic air

    -14? That's nothing.
Here in winter, we get -40 (sometimes even colder) + the wind for a few weeks.
And yes...we still have to go to work and function normally.
    In Canada, that is.

  25. How can y'all live in that cold weather.

I grew up in MO, spent a year in MI. Lived in TX for 3, moved to IN for 6 months and moved my ass back to TX again just a few weeks ago.

Having lived in the North and the South, I'll take the south any day of the week.

Sure it gets warm down here, but -XX numbers. Forget that!!!!!!!!!!
