    Hello,

    z z z z ZERO!!!!!!!!!

That's how cold it is this morning!!!!!!

Fortunately it's going up to 20F and tomorrow will be 40F. But it's going back below freezing the rest of the week. With a chance of up to 6 inches of snow or more Wednesday evening

The coldest weather I ever experienced was one early February in Spooner, Wisconsin. That's about 80 or so miles south of Superior. That morning the mercury hit -61F (-51.6C). It was so cold that LP gas turned to jelly in the tanks, causing furnaces to fail and water pipes to freeze.

That was also the record-breaking winter that prompted the LP gas folks to use heaters for the tanks

It was so cold, my poor 1974 Chevy Nova (350) would not crank. It had a good battery too. The starter solenoid would slowly engage half the time, but it couldn't turn the flywheel

lot of cracked blocks when it gets colder than -40

I was lucky I had just winterized it and the coolant was protected ...to about that same temp ( ). Eventually it did start the next day when it had warmed up

batteries also freeze at that temp -- you were lucky it even clicked ...

a not fully charged battery will freeze solid at -25 even if it is in bad shape ..

When I lived in Indiana earlier this year some of the contractors were from Canada. Just noticed that they were "paler" than everyone else (actually the hoosiers will pretty white too).

Hey, you can dress up to keep warm in the cold, you can only get naked to keep cool in the heat. I'll take the cold anyday. Besides I get killer performance from my car in the frigid cold.

However what sucks is we get a wide range of weather here, from awfully humid summers to bitter cold winters. I could do without the humidity in the summer. It would be nice to have some snow this winter though.

  20. I was referring to the nuts up nort'. I read and reread my post and have no clue how bazooka could have misinterpretted that.

I think people down south live longer. People down south are generally happier (that they arent shoveling snow). Having lived both north and south, gotta say that northerners just seem like they are in a bad mood most of the time.

Tomorrow it is suppose to get cold, something about mid 60's or something....
