Problems with VCD's on Panasonic DMRE55

I've checked the compatiblity list and it says it's compatible but nearley every VCD I put in either doesn't work out stutters when playing, do you think this is due to way I'm burning the discs or just the recorder/player not liking them?

Tried about 10 different movies, odd that my £30 no name dvd players plays them all no worries!!

Any help much appreciated, dont want to have to use the old shoddy one when I have this lovely unit.

Mine plays vcds just fine. I write with Nero.
