I have a VHS tape that I am trying to capture with my wintv pvr 250. The sound on the vhs tape is really clear at high volumes when I watch it on my T but when I try and capture it there is distortion at even the lowest volume levels. Any suggestions on how to improve this? I have Nero 6 Ultra, Pinnacle 9.3 Plus, and Intervideo WINDVD Creator 2.0.

The distorted audio is a common problem on the whole PVR series.
I am using a PVR-150 for a couple of days now and have encountered the same problem. The audio is recorded much too loud and gets distorted.
I am still trying to find a way to adjust the recording levels of the Line inputs but have had no luck so far.

It seems the Hauppauge developers know about this problem already for about 2 years!!!

  4. b_rad, one cause could be that you have plugged the audio jack into your sound cards mic input rather than line-in or aux. Just something to check.
No, I'm from Iowa. I only work in outer space.

It's really a big disappointment of a great card. They should have just manual sound adjustment.

  7. For the PVR-250 and PVR-350, this is how you change the recording volume: http://www.cask-of-amontillado.com/pvr_reg.html#_Change_recording_volume
