Well I was clean in the inside of my PC I took the hole PC apart to clean all the dust the fans had load noises so I open up my PC. After I was done clean I turn on the PC but forgot to hook up one of the fans that’s in the back of the PC its a IDE FAN it just hooks up to any IDE but then you just hook up the other end to what you need hard drive or CDRom Drive. Well while the PC was booting up I for got to hook up the Fan so I did it when the PC was turn on I know its stupid I was not think it was late and I was starting to fall a sleep. Well the PC turn of I thought crap I broke my PC.
Would this PC be turning off being a safety feature, or could I have damaged my PC? It seems to be working fine now.

Sounds like a protection feature of the PC or the power supply. Should be OK, but definitely turn off a PC and unplug it before making any connections. I blew out a motherboard by unplugging a harddrive power connector and having it short out against some metal. Expensive lesson.

When I blew out the MB, it also took out the power supply and the video card. I imagine I shorted the 5V to the 12V lead. Saved the memory and the drives, though. If I remember rightly, it was an ECS KS5A (Or something like that.) AMD processor, fairly new board.
Most newer MB and power supplies require that you unplug the power cord also if you want to change connections because they have power still available to the MB even when the computer is 'off'. -

While I'm at it, I hope you didn't use a vacuum cleaner... Oh the fun that can cause. They create a huge amount of static and the best thing to use is a can of compressed air, blow the fluff out onto the floor where you can clean it up after you close your case..
