Ive been using tmpgenc xpress to convert anime xvids, ogm, and mkv's to dvd.
The big annoynace Ive had is that I always have to add a filter to resize the source material, if i just add no filters and convert as normal, the result is video that has borders on the left and right and the subtitles on the anime cut off along the bottom.
To fix this Ive been using trial and error on every anime to find the right resized res that results in properly displayed video. What I was wondering is if there are any settings in TMPGEnc that would fix this without the trial and error.
Right now I use the 720x480 res, but would using the cropped 704x480 make a difference without having to resize? Also, i noticed in the resize filter that you can pick Full Screen (keep aspect ratio) or Full Screen Without Borders (keep aspect ration). I only tried the first one wihtout resizing. Would choosing full screen without borders make a difference? Thanks

also why do i need to select 3:2 pulldown playback when converting these xvid sources?
on accident, I didnt use 3:2 and instead had left it on interlaced, but the resulting video was just fine. What is the best video mode for my source? Im converting to NTSC.
