hi all. I've got a divx here, that is in 2 parts, and i've had to fix it up by splicing in a missing section from another source in the gap. The resolution is 720 x 304 (1:1 ar), and has an NTSC 29.97 frame rate, and i'm converting to pal. So sony vegas is quite good choice for this, for the splicing and audio synchronization, as well as resizing for full size pal dvd etc. The movie's total length is 2h57m.
I'll frame serve the it out to TMPGend plus with a 2 pass vbr for an elementary video file. My system is as follows
athlon xp 2100 +, 512MB ram, reasonably free hdd space (still only pata ide).(winxp home)
I'm just wondering, people with similar spec'd systems as mine, encoding from sony vegas with the frame serving plug in, a similar size video such as this, or any video for that matter, how long it takes for the encode? If i have similar results then i will realise that my long times are normal, but if you guys are having faster ones, then i will look at manipulating the settings and system a bit better.
thanks in advance
