  1. Hi, I have some movie files in Realplayer (*.rmvb) file format. I was wondering what's the best way to convert the *.rmvb files to *.mpg files????

Use EO Video to convert them to AVI, then whatever you want to use after that.

  3. you could also just use EO Video to convert to VCD/SVCD compliant MPEG file(s). This method does not offer much options (such as clip frame, color correction, etc) so it is preffered if you only want a simple conversion.
This is usually what I use to convert .rm to vcd.

TMPGEnc should also work or directshowsource() with AVISynth, not sure if the fact that rmvb supports VFR could be an issue though.

I don't think TMPGEnc can load realmedia files. Whenever I try to load a .rm file in TMPGEnc, it says its unsupported. If there is a way to get .rm files to load in TMPGENc, i would like to know how...

Well if you look at it that way then TMPGEnc can't open XviD or DivX avi's either.

TMPGEnc requires codecs/filters to input stuff. For an XviD avi it requires that you have XviD or similar installed. For rm/rmvb it requires Gabest's real media filters and Real Player or at least its codecs.

  7. Where would I be able to download the necessary files to make TMPGEnc compatible with .rm files?
