why is it DVD+R more expensive than DVD-R?

Because it cost more to print the | across the -. More production costs, higher price.
Anyway, they don't cost anymore than -'s where I live... -
because they've got a +. that means they give you more positive energy.
actually, i really dont think theres any reason. i usually find them cheaper than -Rs. It's all about location I guess. -

I believe it is because there were originally less manufacturers producing +R disks (which also explains the better quality early on as well). This lead to a pice difference which is no longer justified, but persists regardless. The price gap has closed, however it is still very much alive over here.
