    Anybody have any info on the Sony 8x DVD-R Media at CompUSA for $39.99. Is it made in Japan or Taiwan? What's the media ID?

    I haven't seen the 100 disc spindles, but the 25 and 50 disc spindles of Sony 8x DVD-R are made in Japan, media code SONY08D1.

    dang, i thought those 100 spindles where 4x at compusa

    if there 8x i might go pick me up a few 100 packs

    I haven't seen them myself. I just saw the ad but the website shows them as 8X.

    The COMPUSA in Honolulu is selling 2 packs of the 8x speed 50 spindle for the same price as the 100 spindle that is on sale. The 50 packs say made in Japan and media code is SONY08D1. I've never seen them actually stock any 100 packs.
