I was trying to burn a DVD last night, only in the data disc mode (not an authored dvd). Was using Nero 6.x ...
After about a minute of starting the dvd burn process, it stops and says something like "invalid block address error" or words close to that. The burn then canceled about 2 mins or less into the burn.
I saved the full log file that nero made for it and can paste any parts of it, but does anyone have a basic idea (from knowledge, experience, or a good guess) why the burn failed? Someone help please if you can at all.

At a guess, there is a problem either with your hard drive, or the DVD blank. Check the blank for inconsistency of colour or dye spread, air bubbles, or any other defect. If it appears to be clean, give your HDD a surface scan and a defrag.

I went ahead and did the exact same burn onto a different dvd-r and it went flawlessly (same files, from same hard drive, using same burning prog).
Has anyone else received an "invalid block address" error and have a good idea of what it all amounts to (or has a good guess on it)? For example, what exactly is this "block" pertaining to, as an example. Invalid is general, specifically it means closer to what?
(oh yah, I looked through and at the surface of the dvd-r that the error occured on, it looks perfectly normal all around.) -
I HAD THAT OCCUR TOO, IN THE PAST, USING NERO. I TRIED ANOTHER BLANK IT WORKED FINE. I FIGURED IT WAS A BAD BLANK.
