  1. So my fiance is interested in that game alot, and I am thinking about getting it for her for christmas. I was just curious as what my best options would be.

What would be the best version of it for a PS2 system?

    what about a Mac system?

What about pads? Does the game come with one, or do I have to buy it seperate? Any suggestions/reviews?

Evonne and I use to play it all the time. She had to buy the pads seperate from the game. We play it on the PS2.

  3. 1. Hands (and feet) down DDRMAX. Not DDRMAX2!

    2. Mac? No.

    3. Comes with no controller. The best pad is the Red Octane Ignition. About $100 brand new.

  4. Thanks for the input...any particular reason DDRMAX is better than 2?

How about the New DDR Extreme for PS2. You can get it with a folding dance pad for about $50 - 60 or just the game for $40.

It has the most music and has games you can play with the eye toy which is actually alot of fun.

My GF has all the DDR games and really likes the new one alot.

I bought her the Ignition pad a while ago because the folding ones do tend to wear out, but my GF was using dnace pads almost every day. If you are not sure your GF is going to play it alot, then just get one of the $20 ones for now.

  6. Maybe it's personal bias, but I just think DDRMAX is the best version of the game for any system. Once you get sick of the same songs, you can move on to another version. The Eye Toy games in Extreme were not that fun IMO. It seemed to me like these were leftover games or quickly designed games just thrown on their so Konami could tout them as a reason to buy.
Like ipgpe13 says though, if she won't play it alot you might think about getting a cheap pad, but it will wear out in 2 or 3 months of moderate play. Not cool, and I ended up forking out for 3 of them before I said screw it and bought the ignition. Then again I'm 6' 2" and about 230 lbs so that may have something to do with it.
The cheap pads also slide, and if you're playing this game at a party with alcohol somebody is going to end up falling on their ass if you're lucky or into your entertainment center if your're not. Ask me how I know this....

  7. I think I will get the new DDR Extreme. She is getting my antigrav for christmas, so we will be able to take advantage of the eye toy feature also.

As far as the pads, I think I'm going to order this combo:

    http://www.buynshop.com/productinfophp3/VG-DDRXTT6

It includes 2 fairly good soft pads, and DDR Extreme.

Just out of curiosity, does this game give you a decent work out? That is part of the reason I want to get it, for aerobic excercise.

Any body played antigrav? How is that game wise? excercise wise?

    Thanks.

  8. Cool, good luck with those pads. I have never seen those, but they look good. As for workouts, play for awhile and you'll sweat like a pig. If you're not in shape, playing this game will certainly help!

That is a great deal, the pads look just like the Ignition pad I bought, foam pads in a bag really.

The workout mode in the game is a great way to exercise, I am sure it is not as good as a real workout, but I have have some pretty tiring sessions playing with my GF. She uses the workout mode and likes it.

Antigrav got good reviews, I plan to get it myself soon.

I think the Eyetoy games are great for significant others who are not that handy with a controler. My GF loves to play EyeToy games.

  11. Actually, i do have another question.

    The pad has 9 squares.

I know that atleast 4 of them get used in DDR, do any more than 4 get used? Thanks.
