I start from a promotional dvd with several subtitles selectable from its menu.
I need to end up with an asf file with forced subtitles of one particular language.
I can convert the VOB to wmv, but without subtitles.
I can generate sub files from the VOB
I don't know how to join the sub into the wmv.
Could you help me ?
Thanks !

Convert to avi with permanent subtitles using dvdx or dvd2svcd or use virtualdub-mpeg2 with the vobsub subtitler filter and then convert the avi to wmv or asf.

Hello Baldrick,
I got the job done with dvdx, and put it on the net (it's a finnish film, so you might like to see it, as you are a neighbour ! at http://stream1.hostbasket.com/alven/eena/eena020a_aaltonen2.wmv . However the result is just below what I am expecting, in the sense that I get these ugly zig-zags on moving lines.
What would you suggest to improve the result ?
I used the VP62 video codec in the output settings.
Thanks for your help,
BusyBee
