Hi everyone just a quick question about the LaCie ext. dvd burner.
I just got a new ibook and will be getting the LaCie dvd 16x fw burner an I know if I want to use idvd I need to use patchburn.
If I install this would it void the warrenty-- if yes is there a way to uninstall it so an Apple tech. wouldn't find traces of it in a folder or where ever it gets placed? I would mainly use Toast Ti. 6 that comes with it but sometimes the use of idvd is what I will need.
Thanks in advance for replies.![]()

I can't see how this would affect the warranty in any way. However, the iDVD easter egg can be removed easily. It is just two files in your user folder titled Hurz and Pfurz.
As for Patchburn, the LaCie drives come with their own device profiles to provide support for Apple burning applications. Use those profiles instead. -
Frobozz, thanks for the help. It was on another forum that the warranty was brought up
Again thanks can't wait to get it and burn :P
