  1. is there any way i can play my video files encoded with HD cause I got a lot of them and I have movies the same quality and they are encoded to where I can watch them on the DVP-642 and that makes me a little mad I really dont want to spend a lot of time coverting them cause my computer will probably crash so what should I do?

  2. Your HD files are DivX HD? I've tried it and it dosen't work (I get half a picture and only half the scan lines) I don't believe there are any HD DVD players yet as there is no standard yet.

About the only way to record HD now is to get a Tivo HD or Replay HD hard disk recorder.

I do record HD content to standard DVD+r on a stand alone DVD recorder. Plays fine (not HD) on my HD set through a DVP-642 or the recorder.

    Small correction...

ReplayTV still does not make a high definition recorder.

Choices are Tivo/DirecTV, Moxi/your cable company, Dish Network model 921, or LG 3410 (which does over the air and unencrypted digital HD from cable).

  4. Hey
Thanks, I guess that I'll just get my video coverted to DVD then. I'm getting a DVD burner for christmas and it might be a Plextor PX-712A, you can check it out at http://www.plextor.com/english/products/product_708Advdrw_drives.html
    I found a cheaper price at www.tigerdirect.com
I was searching for DVD players and found one that plays HD video. It is an AVeL you can see it at http://www.divx.com/hardware/
    anyone think this is good?
