Hoping someone can offer some advice on what is probably a really simple question. I've just started doing DVD>Xvid conversions using simpledivx to store on my xbox and watch through XBMC on my TV and am wondering whether i should be de-interlacing my pal interlaced dvd's or leaving them as is ? Anyone any suggestions ?
Cheers

Basic rule because I don't know how XBOX creates an interlace output.
If both fields originate from the same time sample, deinterlace could work assuming you get the correct field order.
If XBOX outputs fields 1/50 sec apart in time, keep it interlace. Deinterlace will create blur and double vision.Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.

Reordering odd and even fields would cause problems in either case.Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.
