OK...sounds dumb even to me but here goes:

How do you (I) print what you scan?
Meaning....I want to scan a CD insert for my car backup CD. How do I scan the insert and print it EXACTLY THE SAME SIZE?
Besides inserting it into a Word document....is there any other way. When you increase the scan quality....the pic ends up HUGE in something like Image Composer.
How do you increase quality without increasing the size of the pic?

It's the little things that piss me off...

Try scanning it at whatever resolution you want it to be. Then when it's scanned in, just use your favorite image editor to resize it in inches or cm or whetever so that it's normal size.
Nothing can stop me now, 'cause I don't care anymore.

Depends on how the software handles the image relative to the resolution. If you scan it at 300 dpi and save as with 300 dpi and open it up in any image editor and select print it should print the exact same size.

Edit: I just tried it in Word and it uses the correct resolution using the images from the link above. When you scanning your images at some point your changing the resolution if your trying to use Word.

Microsoft Word is the only software I've found that will retain the exact size of the image no matter what DPI I scan it at.
I actually only used it once....and it was by accident....sort of...
I think I will experiment with some "copy" functions in my Canon software today.

I read your first post wrong, so your images are being saved with the original dpi.....The issue is with your image software, may even be your printing software. Anything can cause it to be rescaled.

Don't you have a good image editor? If not try out Photoimpact.... www.ulead.com
