  1. Anyone know of any nice program that can burn a DVD directly from your cam? I know it is possible, but I need a software for it.

I know I can import the DV tape in to AVI files on my computer, but I've got some bad luck with AVI and DVD converting latley so my last try is to do the burn directly from the cam to a DVD disc.

If you are interested, you can read about my bad luck with AVI to DVD converting by reading this thread here: https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1119387#1119387.
It would be to much text to have the story in this thread as well.

Otherwise or after you have read that thread, can you please come back to this thread and tell me of any nice Burn directly from MiniDV Cam to DVDdisc program?
    I must honor the code

    Hello,

I don't think I've ever heard of this. You have to author the files into the video_ts structure with vobs inside it. In order to do that you have to have the avi's converted to mpeg or a dvd authoring program that will accept avi files. As far as I know that's the ONLY way you can do it. Sorry.

Does anyone else know of a program for this member?

Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

  3. Be a bit more realistic please.
Upload with WinDV, trim if desired with VirtualDub, add transitions and effects if desired with Adobe Premiere Pro, encode to MPEG-2 with TMPGEnc/Plus, author with whatever DVD Authoring program you want.
Even if there was such software, it would likely such the life out of your PC from using resources for capturing and since it is always recommended that you do nothng during a burn process, they both would cancel each other out. Also, 4.7 GBs of DVD is only about 20 minutes of DV AVI. That's why you encode.

Some tools with so called "right to disc" support, dv directly to dvd
    Cyberlink PowerProducer
    Ulead DVD MovieFactory
    Ulead DVD Workshop
    WinDVD Creator

But if you want the best quality do not use all-in-one solutions.

This guy must be great with "edit in the camera" style shooting, or he is just dubbing something.

if you really wanna go straight from DV to DVD, get a standalone hardware DVD-+R(W) recorder from your local electronics store for $320. be sure it has firewire though.
