I have a desktop with an amd dual core - maybe soon to be quad core - and I want to use it for my htpc. It has linux mint on it, a fairly recent edition, downloaded in April of this year. I am shopping now for a tv tuner. I am not sure whether it is better to have an external usb tv tuner or a video card with the tuner built onto the card. I am looking for an hd tuner.
I would appreciate any input you have, especially re: which hardware is more linux friendly.
