Tried looking for a thread on this but couldn't locate one.

Maxell 8x DVD+/-R media 15 pack for $8.94 at Staples.

    Link: http://instorespecials.staples.com/staples/default.aspx?action=browsepagedetail&storei...pagenumber%3d4

Picture clearly shows 8x media with free pen offer as advertised in circular.

Use the 12% Customer appreciation coupon and get them for $7.98.

    Coupon here:
    http://www.staplescentral.com/customerAppreciation/images/04_CustomerAppCard.pdf

Not sure on Country of Origin or Media ID.

    Thanks, just picked up some.

There were 2 different types at the Staples I was at.
One did not have the free pen with it. Those tubs did not have any 'Made In' note on them that I could find.

The other tub did have the pen included with it. Those were marked 'Made in Japan' on the bar code label. That's what I bought.
Won't be able to check the media code until tonight, but I'm pretty confident it will be MXL or TY's given the made in Japan logo.

That is the first time I have seen the MXL03s. Looks like I might have to open up all my packs to see what I got.

Well at least this got a better response over here than over at SlickDeals where I also posted this. I got reemed there "This isn't really a good deal because the discs cost too much." I should have skipped posting over there and just stuck with the real audience.
