i finally found a ripper that would work in my old version of os 10.1.5
heres my next question.
how do i convert the .vob file for use in final cut pro (BARE IN MIND, IM ON AN EARLY VERSION OF OS X. THANKS)

Apparently the Quicktime MPEG-2 Component works with versions of QuickTime compatible with 10.1.3 or later (and OS 9). If you had this and QuickTime Pro you should be able to export a VOB to a QuickTime movie which Final Cut can edit. I don't have your version of the OS so there is no way for me to check if this works. But all the other software I've seen requires 10.2 or later.

Cinematize 1 works under Mac OS X 10.1.x. I noticed that my local CompUSA was still selling it at a discount a few weeks back.
