When I rip DVD to HD it works flawlessly, however, when I encode with DivX 5.0 into AVI file then for some DVD's sound and video do not match. Namely, audio is 2 seconds behind. What could cause this problem and how to solve it? Thanks.

You found one of many well known issues .
This is related to the dvd and how it was produced and menued by production crew (fox , interactive , ect)

Give my way a go , its how I get past multiple same name vob files , and menu tricks designed to make it impossible to create properly working copies of dvds , and to any other format .
