    I was Millennium Park last night shooting some pictures. I see this couple walking towards me. The woman comes up to me and asks, "How far is Navy Pier?" I'm thinking a lot of people are not like me and I give them some advice. I tell them that they should take a taxi or the bus since its pretty far from Millennium Park (I would say its about 13 or so blocks) and it was 8 PM. The man instantly responds, "No its not. Its this way." And points the opposite way. I just watch as they walk away towards that way into the creepy woods behind the park.

    I just kept thinking, why do they even bother to ask if they're not even going to listen? And why do I bother trying to help them out? This is not the first time this happened either. Some guy asked for directions from Wrigley to Soldier Field. He did listen either as I saw him half an hour later on Michigan.

    What do you guys do in the same situation? Shoiuld I just start giving f^&$*# up directions?

    I do this too - but you have to be clever. If someone asks me "where is Llandaff Rugby Club ?" I send them to Whitchurch Rugby Club instead.

    I agree with Tommyknocker. You can't be sure if they are genuinely needing help or not, and I have no reason to cause a stranger grief. If they decide that they know better, I'll just laugh and wish them luck.
