  1. A mirror cdr99 disc didn't work. The burning failed before the file was finished writing.

The video stopped 2 minutes and 23 seconds from the end of the video. The video file should have been 49 minutes and 10 seconds but only 46 minutes and 47 seconds were burned.

Video bitrate is 2442 varable and 224 audio.

What do you all think could be the problem? Bad media or bad drive?

  5. Well this drive doesn't work fully with mirror cdr90+ discs which are suppose to burn up to 99mins.

No the computer isn't touched during burning.

The red light on the drive went out at 96% and a green light came on then i got an error saying burning at 8x speed failed. For some reason Nero won't let me burn at 4x.

  6. By the way the disc should have had 974mb burned
but it doesn't. The disc plays ok on my computer but the video stops 2 mins and 23 sec from what should be the end of the video.

You can pick them up in packs of 16 at CompUSA for about $12. I don't think you can overburn 99 minute CD-R's, but don't quote me on it.

  11. Well i tried upgrading the firmware and nero still failed at 96%.

I am in the uk. Will they ship to the uk?

I have to use overburn to burn up to 99minutes otherwise the drive only sees 80min media.

This drive is supposed to burn upto 99minutes and 5 secs and i can't even get it to 96minutes and 47 seconds.

  12. I think the discs i am using(mirror cdr99) are only 90minutes.

Are Infinity 90 Min discs any better? They supposed to burn up to 99min with the right hardware/software.

  13. The 24x10x40 drive officialy supports 90/99min CDR, but to burn to that capacity you also need a good media, cheap media may not burn correctly or could cause problems, but you can see on the information page of the Lite-On drive that it does support overburning upto 99min.

  14. Right i done some sums and the Mirror CDR90+ discs are only capable of 91min and 54 secs which is nowhere near 99 minutes which is what these discs are suppose to do.

920mb instead of 974mb which is what should have been burned.

    Thanks for the help,

    David

  15. Actually since you said those are 90+, that means they are only capable of upto 90min, technicily most 90min CDR i've seen can burn upto 92min.

To burn 99min you will need specific 99min CDR media, you can't overburn a 90min media to 99min.

  16. But the site i brought them from was selling them as 99 minutes which i think is a breach of the trade decrictions act.

  17. If they sold you those 90min as 99min, then you can sue them, I would first email them, and ask them for a refund or replacement to 99min CDR that you wanted, if not, you can sue them for misleading information.
