  1. hey guys,, i want to know what is the different between svcd and ksvcd?? which one is more better in quality( doesnt' matter how long it take to rip it.. ). Is there any other format that have a better quality then these two??except the original DVD(.VOB) of course.. please answer.. TIA

    ksvcd is a "mutant" of svcd and is basically just an "out-of-standard" svcd. Go to www.kvcd.net and pay the $2.99 if you want more info on these. Essentially Kwag's templates used "tweaked" settings to enable huge lengths of time to fit on one CD, while attempting to retain quality. The downside is compatibility. There are still quite a few DVD palyers that can't/won't play SVCDs, and you'll find that if they can't play a standard compliant SVCD, they normally don't have a chance in hell of playing anything that wavers from standard compliance, such as anything encoded using Kwag's templates.

    You would really have to try converting using one of Kwag's templates, and then try it on your DVD player to see if it is compatible with your player.
