need some help with firmware

hi all

i have a lite-on 811s i've been using memorex 4x speed with no problems

its getting harder and harder to find the memorex 4x thier coming out with 8x

so i decided to try the 8x and did the firmware update
now i've got problems the picture freezes

now when the burner starts up it burns a few minutes then stops then rev's up then slows down causing the freezing i don't know where to turn here

i always use TMPGEnc DVD Author writing tool never a problem till now i think its the burner but i dunno so i would greatly appreciate some help

oh also does anyone know how to change the write speed in writing tool
mine stays gray and i am unable to change the speed maybe i'm missing something
