I've been trying to make a back-up (for personal use, of course) of The Bourne Supremacy and can't get it to work with either Nero Recode or DVD Shrink. It gets about 3% done then halts, reporting some sort of "internal error", etc. Does anyone know if there's some new kind of MV or whatever on this?
I read about a new version of MV elsewhere on this forum, so I'm wondering if that's the problem. I tried to "back-up" another title and it went fine, so I don't think it's the software.

Hi.
Does this DVD contain "Unreferenced Material"? -

I couldn't replace it with a still or compress it in anyway or would not let me rip either disc. Strange.

On these problematic DVDs, applying "No Compression" or "Still Image" to the "Unreferenced Material" usually does the trick.

I'll mess with it more now that I'm back from work.....

I finally got it to work by using DVDShrink to make the "Unreferenced Material" section as small as possible. It seems to have yielded a good result based on a quick test. Hopefully this particular problem won't arise again any time soon....

Well, if it does you know what to do.
fredropro, we'll need more details to try and help (DVD, system,...). -
There are a few movies (SWAMP THING comes to mind) that just will not work in SHRINK, DVD2ONE or others.
I've had to use DVD Rebuilder with either ReJig or QuEnc for these.
Try it. It's free, after all.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

I guess it doesn't matter, but I'm still not convinced there was ever a problem with the disc in the first place. Like I said before, I used DVDShrink and didn't have any problems backing up the whole disc using auto compression. I think something else is going on here.

I managed to get it to work by using DVD Shrink and manually setting the Unreferenced Material to the maximum compression setting. Whatever the problem actually was, by doing that I got a good result, so that's all that really matters in the long run. I'm just glad I finally prevailed in this latest challenge....

Glad to hear it.

I've tried all of that guys and it doesn't work for me; I've tried the stuff with Shrink didn't work. I did get it to back up with DVD Decrypter but WinDVD 4 won't play it and Clone DVD won't burn it...Clone dvd says "The system cannot find the file specified" and I know it's there...it's looking for the ifo file. Any suggestions or another program to try please...anyone have a step by step yet?
Thanks for all the help so far,
Venom -
venomva, try doing a movie-only backup with DVD Shrink:

i was about to say i got this to work just fine, but then realized i did movie only and you all did full backup, so nevermind!
-
Venomva: Instead of having DVDShrink to look for the ifo file, just go to the ifo file, right click on it and tell it to always use DVD Shrink to open that type of file. Then all you have to do is double click on any ifo file and it will automatically open in DVD Shrink. That's what works for me. I have had the same problem for a long time.
