  1. would there be any problems putting clips from both video formats &/or of different size resolutions on one dvd?

    Yes. Shouldn't be done. At least not in the same title set.

    Different resolutions, yes, even within the same titleset - so long as they have the same Aspect Ratio. Different formats on a single disk is outside the specs, so you may not be able to play it in your standalone..

  4. Different size, ie. 352x240, 352x480, 704x480 and 720x480 on same disk is OK.

    PAL and NTSC on same disk, ie 704x480 and 704x576 is not within DVD spec and probably won't be allowed by you authoring app.

    And since it isn't within DVD spec some standalone DVD-players might not play correctly.

    This said, I often mix PAL and NTSC on same disk and they play well on my Pioneer.

    The only thing I've found that will put both PAL and NTSC on the same disc is DVDShrink. You'll have no menu but it will accept the two formats.
    The question is still the player....will it play it?

    No. Out of spec. DVD must be PAL or NTSC. Make two discs, or convert one of the files.
